Teaching and Orientation to The Medicine Buddha

In this unique program, we will explore the practice of Medicine Buddha, or Menla. The object of this practice is to contact the essence of health that is fundamental to ourselves, pervades the universe and is the heart of all healing.

Medicine Buddha practice has been offered in Victoria, at the Shambhala Centre for the past 10 years. The object of this practice is to contact the essence of health that is fundamental to ourselves, pervades the universe and is the heart of all healing. Through deity practice in the Tibetan Karma Kagyu lineage, we not only achieve benefit for ourselves, but we actually cultivate the potential to benefit others - by doing these practices, we also benefit the environment and all sentient beings. Our regular sessions (1st and 3rd Mondays each month, 7:30-9:00 pm) include movement, meditation, MedicineBuddha practice (in English), and discussion of texts related to healing and Buddhism. Although this practice comes to us from the Tibetan Buddhism tradition, it is ecumenical in that it may be practiced by people of all faiths and spiritual orientations.

For the 5 Monday evenings in November 2010, we will continue the tradition of presenting and practicing the Medicine Buddha teachings to the community. We welcome everyone who has a desire to explore Medicine Buddha as a deep and personal method of global healing.

To Register show up at the door.
